Sevrier is a municipality located south of the city of Annecy, on the shores of the western bank of the Lake Annecy towards Albertville.
Geographical situation
The city of Sevrier covers an area of 1,265 hectares at an altitude ranging from 440 to 1,280 meters, and the inhabitants, numbering 4,200, are called Sevriolains and Sevriolaines.
The municipality is a strip of land between the lake and the Semnoz mountain that widens as it descends south, a good part of which is composed of fir forests and agricultural land.
Cultural facilities
Library
Offering a wide selection of books (over 10,000), the library is located between the town hall and the school: 2,000 route d’Albertville. The town hall offers a home book delivery service for elderly people over 70 years old.
Ecomuseum of Lake Annecy
The ecomuseum is dedicated to life in the Savoy Alps of the 19th century. It features demonstrations of craftsmanship, screenings of short films, and fun activities for children. This associative museum was founded by the folk group of Annecy, l’Écho de nos montagnes.
It welcomes school groups from kindergarten to high school. The displays are realistic and allow the public to immerse themselves in the daily life of the past.
The museum is open from May 1 to June 15 and from September 15 to 30 from 2 PM to 6 PM in the off-season, and from June 16 to September 14 from 10 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM in the peak season.

The Bell Museum
The Paccard company has been making bells since 1796. It is the world leader in church bells and carillons. Most of its production is exported.
Since its creation, 120,000 bells have been cast. Visiting the Bell Museum allows you to understand this unique profession.
The animation complex
With over 1,000 m², it hosts events throughout the year such as the Comic Book Fair, the Wellness Fair, the Wine Fair, and cultural theater performances.

Public transport
They are provided by two bus lines that connect Annecy and Albertville via line n°51 and between Annecy and Duingt via line n°52.
School activities
A space for young children “Pic et plume” is located opposite the beach parking lot. It has a capacity of 33 places for children from 10 weeks to 4 years old.
The kindergarten (five classes) and elementary school (eight classes) Henri Gour is located at 2,000 route d’Albertville. School meals are provided on-site by municipal services.
The Montessori school Fantine in Sevrier welcomes children from 3 to 6 years old in a bilingual French-English environment.
Heritage
Sevrier has two pile-dwelling sites that are prehistoric remnants of lake dwellings. A canoe, stakes, and a mold for an axe have been discovered.
These underwater sites are not open to visitors. You can see the beautiful chapelle de Létraz which dates from the 19th century, notably featuring a superb walnut virgin, sculpted by Henri Perrot on the stone altar.
The priory of Sevrier, which is an old church, was purchased by the municipality in 2000, which has turned it into a venue for cultural exhibitions along with its park.
It was previously owned by the canons of the order of Saint Augustine and then by a perpetual vicar established by Saint Francis de Sales.
Markets in Sevrier
The traditional weekly food market takes place every Wednesday in front of the Town Hall from 7 AM to 12:30 PM.
During the first week of December, the municipality organizes its Christmas Market with activities such as bread baking, a lantern parade, and a Gospel concert. It is also an opportunity to find original gifts.
Parking in Sevrier
This municipality bordering Annecy has developed several parking areas:
- The beach parking of Sevrier: this large parking area provides access to the municipal beach, which is free. The parking is paid from May 15 to September 15, every day of the week, from 9 AM to 7 PM. The hourly rate is €2 from May 15 to June 30 and from September 1 to September 15. During July and August, the hourly rate is €2.20. For the camper parking located on the port road, the parking fee is €30 for 14 hours.
- The church parking: this small parking area is in a blue zone.
