Poisy is a town of 8,000 inhabitants in Haute Savoie in the Rhone Alps and is located 6km west of Annecy. Poisy covers 1140 hectares including 313 hectares of agricultural and 442 hectares of forest and protected areas and rises up to approximately 500 meters.

The library has more than 15,000 books and is located on Rue Charles Perrault.
It is open on :
- Tuesday and Friday from 4pm to 7pm
- Wednesday 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 6pm
- Saturday from 9.30am to 12.30pm
- Thursday it is reserved for visiting school classes.
During school holidays, it is open on :
- Thursday 2pm to 5pm instead of Wednesday morning.
The school teaches Poisy agricultural trades to young students in the area. The subjects studied are: aquaculture aquariums, management and control of water, forests, land and landscape, agriculture, agronomy, natural environment, trade.

Facilities and clubs
The Aikikai club is an aikido club which welcomes both big and small, experienced and beginners. The dojo is located on Route Monod leaving Poisy in the direction of Annecy.

The Table Tennis Club welcomes children and adults who want to learn or play tennis. Many competitions are organized and played every year. The tennis club is located in the ballroom of Poisy during the season.
