History and heritage

Frangy en Haute-SavoieAs early as the Neolithic period, archaeologists have discovered sites attesting to a human presence. The Roman occupation gave it the name Frengiacum, which is found in the 12th century. The town was burnt down in 1590 by the Genevans. It took off again in the 17th century with the construction of a bridge over the Usses.

Shops developed, as well as numerous cabarets. At the fall of Napoleon, the town became Sardinian. It became French again when Savoy was annexed to France.
