Meythet is located in Haute-Savoie, in the Rhône-Alpes region. It is a delegated municipality of the new municipality of Annecy, which is located 3 km West of the center of Annecy.
Geographical situation
It covers more than 320 hectares, at an altitude of about 450 meters. Its inhabitants, numbering 9,000, are called Meythésanes and Meythésans. Meythet occupies 3.4% of the surface area of the Annecy agglomeration and belongs to the group of municipalities known as “right bank” of the agglomeration. It is also home to the Annecy Airport.

Médiathèque Louise Michel
The 780 m² media library is spread over two levels. It is located on Rue François Vernex and has more than 22,000 documents, including 900 DVDs and 2,500 CDs. It is also a workspace and multimedia consultation area.
Performance hall Le Rabelais
The performance hall Le Rabelais is located on Route de Frangy and actively participates in the cultural life of the municipality. It hosts numerous shows and concerts for young and old alike. This is a natural area that includes fauna, flora, and springs protected by a prefectural decree. You can follow the interpretation trail on environmental protection. It will allow you to learn more about the water cycle.
The Vallon du Fier – Bois des Iles
This vast area allows you to follow the banks of the Fier and access the municipalities of Annecy, Annecy-le-Vieux, and Metz-Tessy. Part of it is practiced in the undergrowth and allows for running in good conditions, with an adapted surface. A bridge allows pedestrians to reach the Annecy part. The entire site is also allowed for mountain biking.

Markets in Meythet
The city offers two weekly markets. They allow you to buy fruits and vegetables from local production in a short circuit.
- The downtown market, which takes place on Wednesday mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. On this occasion, the section of Rue François Vernex between No. 11 and the intersection with Route de Frangy is closed to traffic.
- The small market of old Meythet takes place on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1 Chemin du Vieux Meythet. It is a food market that highlights local producers.

Meythet en Fête
The city of Meythet brings together in one day and in one place the garage sale, traditional animations, the village festival of old Meythet, and the associations’ festival. The date chosen is the first Sunday in October. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A refreshment stand and catering are offered on site.
