Nâves-Parmelan is a small village located at the foot of the Parmelan mountain in Haute-Savoie. The village is located about 7 km east of Annecy and is adjacent to the communes of Villaz and Annecy-le-Vieux. Its population is about 965 inhabitants, who are called Nâverains and Nâveraines. Nâves-Parmelan is a commune that rises to 640 metres above sea level and is part of the Communauté de Communes du Pays de la Fillière.

The history of the village
The first settlements in the village date back to the first centuries of our era, with tombs from theBurgundian period. Near Dingy-Saint-Clair, the Romans built a Roman road to Villaz.
In the Middle Ages, the land was under the control of the lords of Menthon. During the Second World War, the village played an active role in the Resistance. Its proximity to the fighting at Les Glières explains this fact.
Sports activities and walks
Seven signpostedwalks of varying difficulty await you from the village. We particularly recommend the walk to the Bassins de la Lune and the Dents de Lanfont.
The walk to the Nâves waterfall
In winter, this walk allows you to admire the beautiful ice sculptures around the waterfall. You have to go to the border of the commune, on the Gratte-Planche stream.
Then go to the foot of the waterfall to admire the beautiful ice concretions. In summer, the route is very pleasant with a shaded wooded area.
The pond walk
This pleasant and refreshing walk allows you to discover the eleven ponds located in the commune. The route is 2 km long and does not present any particular difficulty.
Paragliding in Nâves-Parmelan
Almost at the top of Mount Lachat, on the western face, a paragliding take-off area allows for beautiful flights from the afternoon to the end of the evening.
The take-off is quite steep and not suitable for beginners. We also recommend that you do not take off in zero or tailwinds. More info on paragliding near Annecy. In winter, a 3 km cross-country ski loop is available from the stadium.

The café de la poste, since renamed Le Bistro de la Jalle, offers refined seasonal cuisine. The establishment also serves as a bread depository and post office. The restaurant offers a formula with starter, main course, cheese, coffee, drink and dessert for 15 € during the week. In the evening and at weekends: starter, main course, coffee and dessert for €30. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.
