Menthon Saint Bernard

Menthon Saint Bernard is a village in Haute Savoie in the Rhone Alps region of about 1800 inhabitants located about ten kilometers south east of Annecy. Residents are « Menthonnaises » and « Menthonnais ».

The village of Menthon extends along the right border of the Lake of Annecy in an area of 4.51 sq km near the Dents de Lanfon, south of Mount Veyrier and north of Roc de Chere.

It is located next to the city Veyrier du LacAlex and Bluffy and forms with them the Community of villages of the « Tournette ».

Menthon’s Castle

Overlooking the town on the pass road Bluffy, dating from the Middle Ages (thirteenth century).
Altered in the fifteenth century and sixteenth century, it will be subject to changes from 1740. The present appearance of the castle dates from 1880, giving it a resemblance to the castles of Ludwig II of Bavaria (turrets, roof timber, interior redesign).

The grounds of Menthon Saint Bernard are located under the trees and the port are open to all players. In each station, pétanque fields and competitions are offered during the summer.
